The International City Dubai is destined to become the business and cultural hub of the Middle East and surrounding regions. Set in over 800 hectares of land, the International city ten internationally themed residential districts (China, England, Morocco, Russian, Italy, Spain, France, Persia, Greece, Thailand) - providing quality apartments for more than 60,000 residents when complete. Various sectors are already complete. In particular the Dragon Mart, in the China District, which is the largest supplier of Chinese products and services outside China.
The International City has been split into four main districts; the Central District, Residential District, Lake District and Forbidden City.
The Central District – The Central District is a home to retailers, wholesalers and corporate offices, and acts as the nerve centre of the development. It is spread over 21 hectares and comprises of 34 plots, where investors can develop their own projects (in line with International City's themes and aesthetics). All 10 storey towers in the Central District house retail outlets on the ground floor and each tower will have basement parking for 130 vehicles.
The Residential District – The Residential District is spread out over 300 hectares. The 2,100 studio (44.5 square meter) and one bedroom (66.5 square meter) apartments will highlight the architectural wonders of Italy, Spain, Morocco, Persia, Greece, China, Indonesia, England, Russia, Thailand and France. These will be divided into large and medium-sized neighborhoods They'll host commercial shops, restaurants, medical centres, post office, police station, two civil defense units and transportation services.
Lake District – The Lakes District comprise of 60 hectares of lush green landscape that borders a serene lake. It contains 24-26 buildings with a total of 1375 apartments, offering 2 and 3 bedroom duplex apartments. The Lake District is being built around Al Warsan Lake which is a 100 hectare natural eco system and home to over 186 species of birds including some of the most exotic and rare birds found in the Arabian Peninsula and parts of Asia.
Forbidden City – Forbidden City consists of a 240,000 square meter replica of the biggest and best-preserved cluster of ancient buildings in China. This development will host a variety of entertainment facilities, in addition to retail and restaurant outlets, public squares and authentic Chinese-themed displays. It is to accommodate residential and retail outlets set among remarkable gardens, museums and performance patios.
International City is located in the Al Warsan region of Dubai, just off Emirates Road. It is only a short distance from the Dubai International Airport and the main centre of the city.
