Aluminium Dubai expo opens at Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre
Aluminium Dubai, an exhibition of the aluminimum industry, opens today at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre (DICEC). The event will be inaugurated by Ahmad Humaid Al Tayer, vice-chairman of Dubai Aluminium Company (Dubal) and chairman of Emirates NBD Bank.
"The aluminium sector is a critical focus area in the diversification drive of the region's governments. However, despite the worldwide financial crisis impacting the overall investment climate, the region continues to demonstrate active interest in the aluminium sector. This has translated into Aluminium Dubai receiving impressive feedback from all the key stakeholders, both within the region and beyond," said Tarek Ali, show manager.
Organised by Reed Exhibitions Middle East, Aluminum Dubai will be on till March 31. Over 40 per cent of exhibiting companies this year will showcase mid-stream technologies such as aluminium extrusion, casting and heat treatment besides the latest in smelting, plant engineering and fabrication technologies.
