Dubai Studio City commences first phase of construction works
Dubai Studio City (DSC), a member of TECOM Investments, today announced Phase 1 construction of its AED3.20 million Commercial Complex will be completed by December 2008.
The 490,000 sq. ft. Commercial Complex will provide a range of office spaces suitable for production houses, small and medium business set-ups, freelancers, animation and graphic design companies. Tenants from the film, TV, radio production and broadcast industries can rent office spaces starting from 800 sq ft. The Commercial Complex also offers the provision of leasing entire buildings to match high space demands.
Construction on the Commercial Complex commenced in August 2007 and will be developed in three phases. The first and second phases of construction will include two blocks of 74,000 sq ft each, while the third phase will feature a 194,000 sq ft tower.

The complex will include offices, retail areas, restaurants and cafes, meeting rooms, screening rooms, movie library, business centre and extensive parking facilities. It will cater to a wide range of activities including music composition, event management, modelling, artist management and marketing and sales services.
The Commercial Complex has been contracted to Al Shafar General Contracting, while the Al Hashemi Group are the lead consultants for the project.
Dubai Studio City is dedicated to the growth of film, TV, radio production, post-production and broadcast industries in the region. Spread over an area of 22 million sq. ft, Dubai Studio City will include 14 sound stages, 3.5 million sq. ft. back lot for outdoor shooting, commercial offices, pre-built studios, a business centre and post-production studios.
