Dubai City Consisently Taking Shap
As one of Dubai’s premier developments keeps coming together, with additional facilities also recently being completed, with more on the way, Dubai Sports City, which covers 50 million square feet, is the world’s first purpose built sports city.
The golf course, which is a sure show-stopper with its 18-hole championship course (designed by the legendary, Ernie Els) was recently opened, while other facilities are fairly near completion.
As was mentioned by the President of Dubai Sports City, Khalid Abdulrahim Al Zarooni, “The Els Club is the first completed venue in Dubai Sports City, and it has been constructed and presented to exceed world-class standards. We thank Ernie Els and his team for the excellent work they have done here over the last few years, and we welcome the Els family and the Els Design team to our rapidly growing community,”
The Els Club is set to showcase a 60,000 square foot ‘Mediterranean-style’ clubhouse, where members and guests alike will have access to a private lounge, as well as state-of-the-art meeting and conference facilities and varied dining outlets.
According to Thomas Rubi, General Manager of The Els Club, “The Els Club at Dubai Sports City will be distinguished by its design standard, the levels of hospitality service shown to members and guests, and the year-round excellent golf course conditioning.”
As was pointed out by many property experts and property portals, the sales of villas and town homes at the development's Victory Heights Golf Estates have been excellent thus far.
Phase One is said to be completely sold out and scheduled for occupation in the second half of this year, whilst Phase Two, is almost completely sold out and is set for completion in March 2009.
Not only is the golf club close to completion, but several stadiums are also nearing completion. A 25,000 seat cricket stadium and a 5,000 seat hockey stadium are expected to be completed by the year end. A 60,000 outdoor stadium and 10,000 seat indoor arena is also under construction and nearing completion.
But it is not all fun and games for the sports enthusiast alone, as the community will also have on offer more than 1.7 million square feet of retail space in three separate locations, namely: Arena Mall, North Point and South Point.
