EIC begins $11m road expansion project
Emirates Industrial Cities has proposed to improve and expand the roads around its Emirates Industrial City project at an estimated cost of more than Dh41 million ($11 million) and has awarded the contract to Sharjah General Contracting, a report said.
'Due to the vital importance of the Emirates Industrial City and in order to ensure the unimpeded flow of products, goods and various logistical services, the connection procedure has been confirmed in the master plan,' Shaikh Abdullah bin Fahid, chairman of Al Hanoo Holdings and Emirates Industrial Cities, was quoted as saying in the Gulf News report.
'This will allow for the absorption and resolution of potential traffic jams by providing alternate entrances and exits and expanding the drainage system of main roads,' he added.
The project is a mere seven minutes' drive from Sharjah International Airport and is beside the Dubai ring road. |
