Entries will be separated into Buildings (those already complete) and Projects (those incomplete or still on the drawing board), and judged on: contribution to world architecture culture, invention and imagination, respect for people, the planet, context: environmental awareness and appropriateness.
Eligibility Criteria
Entries will be accepted for buildings or future projects in the developing world; the Gulf States, the Middle East, Asia, Africa, the Indian subcontinent, Australasia (excluding Japan, New Zealand & Australia) and Latin America.

- The Islamic Architecture Award - for the project that shows particular empathy and understanding for Islamic culture and context.
