The Arabian Canal, due for completion in 2013, will be the worlds longest man-made canal. At over 75 km long it will cater for various residential, entertainments, commercial, retail and hospitality property developments.
The Arabian Canal is the second phase of the Dubai Waterfront project. Initial excavation of the canal will start at the Dubai Marina, and will flow inland around the massive area where the Jebel-Ali International Airport is planned, before returning to the sea through the Dubai Waterfront by the Palm Jebel Ali. Due to the meandering nature of the canal, it also offers up the opportunity for various mixed-use feature Islands, which would offer spectacular views of the canals surrounding waterscape.
As well as offering spectacular waterfront properties, the Arabian canal also offers a potential new transport network in Dubai for both commercial and recreational boats, linking the Dubai Waterfront and Dubai Mariner with a whole host of new commercial developments
